A Message from the Muslim Community

We wish to express our concern regarding the decision taken by Bankstown City Council in canceling the proposed venue for the up-coming Khilafah Conference.

We view the decision taken by the council as the deprivation of the natural rights afforded to all citizens in this country, a development that sets a very dangerous precedent.

The decision taken by the Council will only re-enforce the popular view held by the Muslim community that it is the target of intimidation and demonisation.

We advise that marginalising the Muslim community through such underhanded tactics will only serve to harm the efforts at building genuine community cohesion.
