Petition promoting Khun Thong dang (copper) as the royally bestowed prime minister 


The petition was submitted to the Royal Household Bureau at the Wiset Chaisri gate of the Grand Palace by five representatives of the network led by Chaiwat Sinsuwong, ML Walwipa Charoonroj and Tul Sitthisomwong.  A number of the network's supporters rallied on Na Phraland road in front of the Grand Palace, chanting demands for the removal of Ms Yingluck while the petition was delivered.  Mr Chaiwat claimed the petition, which asks for a royally bestowed prime minister, was signed by 8.9 million people.  He said the petition accuses the Yingluck government of abusing its power by working to divide the three supreme sovereign powers of the country. It says the government is interfering in the work of independent organisations with an aim to abolish democratic rule under the monarchy.  It also accuses the Yingluck government of trying to amend the constitution and issue an amnesty law under the dictate of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.  Mr Chaiwat said protesters of the Network of Thai Patriots would continue to rally at Sanam Luang until the government resigns from office.
