Comments: I am definitely in favor of preserving the farmland in Michigan. It makes me sick to see a large barn with a housing development all around it. We are destroying a piece of history in Michigan when that happens.

Comments: Our farms are our heritage. Local farming encourages local eating and lower food cost. Thank-you Commissioners for RESPONSIBLE sustainability.

Comments: As one who tries to live off the land when possible in my own personal gardening and the raw food products I consume, I think our farmland will become again one of the greatest resources to offer not only to the families of Kent County but to the types of business who are already tapping into this rich resource. I highly recommend anyone watch the powerful documentary, Food, Inc. This is a smart investment in our future and will make us a leader to so many in this country.

Comments: We need to protect the environment from urban sprawl. The PDR will not only do this but will also make our community more attractive to the people who care about the environment who also tend to be the people who are creating growth industry jobs. I support the PDR program.

Comments: As one of the task force members who created the original PDR program, I have been hoping that Kent County would come to the point where commissioners see the value in this. We need the county commitment to leverage additional dollars! Thanks for your consideration.
