Name: Anonymous on Jun 25, 2007Comments: This post office is understaffed and the lines are incredibly long. I feel awful for anyone wanting to pick up a package (I have never had to do so, thank goodness) because they are standing in line for a ridiculous amount of time. Mothers with small children and the elderly make it particularly sad. It's a shame really, how people there are treated and made to wait. I've stopped using it, and haul whatever it is I need to mail (regardless of size of weight) into midtown Manhattan, because those POs are far more efficient. Thanks for taking the time to look into this, we need better service for everyone in the neighborhood.Flag

(I resorted to doing all my mailings at Mailboxes Etc. near my job even though it's more expensive) Fights, unmanned windows, empty stamp machines. It's unbelieveable how poorly this P.O. is run. I don't think a Park Slope post office would ever be this intolerable, and Kensington has been ignored for too long.Flag

That excitement evaporated after my first visit. This place is a total nightmare! No matter what day of the week, what time of day, there is always a ridiculously long wait - and it always seems that there's only one, maybe 2, staff people! This place really needs an overhaul.Flag

I have lived in various neighborhoods in brooklyn, and my wife manhattan, the bronx, and brooklyn, and we agree - it's almost beyond belief just how terribly it functions. Plus, they routinely lose mail to the point where we don't think it's safe to use the local drop boxes and take our mail to work in manhattan to mail it from there. Pathetic and enraging.Flag
