Alan WillardMadisonWIUSIf Dr Wilkerson cannot express her political opinions without risking her employment, we have made a significant step on the road to totalitarianism.

Robert Norton CableSomervilleMassachusettsUSThe world--particularly the Packard Community Clinic--is fortunate to benefit from the presence, the service, and the example of such a skilled, enlightened, dedicated, and heroic person as Dr. Catherine Wilkerson.

Jon ThielsAnn ArborMIUSPlease do not fire Dr. Wilkerson; she is a compassionate doctor who works to save lives.
Brian MallonLivoniaMIUSRead the damned Bill of Rights!
KheireddineSalineMIUSThis is beyond ridiculous. What do her social justice activities have to do with her credentials as a physician?

Frank RichardsHuntington StationNYUSThis is another outrage against political dissent. What good are freedom and democracy if our institutions will not tolerate us exercising our constitutionally protected rights.
Rudy ListAnn ArborMIUS
Larry HochmanLivo niaMIUSShould explore status of Packard to see if it qualifies as a State actor or not. If so, there is a very clear constitutional case. Explore whether the proposed contract pushed on Wilkerson with the demand of her waiving her constitutional rights of free speech and access to the courts is, in a difficult legal interpretation, unconscionable enough to pin liability even to a non-State, private actor. I'd be glad to help. Also contact Buck Davis.
Aram FalsafiSeattleWAUSThis is an outrage! How about some courage in the face of a racist power structure?
Marta RodriguezSan LuisAibonitoPRIt's outrageous that a conscientious doctor, very much admired by her patients should be deprived of her healing vocation, not for negligence in the performance of that job, but for her exercise of what is supposed to be a constitutionally protected right of expression *in her own time* and *under her own name.* Yet there's no doubt that if Dr. Wilckerson would have spent her personal time defending "Israel," an entity which *not unlike the former apartheid regime of South Africa,* is up to its gills in crimes of genocide, torture, and racism, this firing process wouldn't even be taking place. What kind of health facility fires a doctor for protesting *during her personal time* a regime that is at best racist and brutal?
David Halpin FRCSNewton AbbotDevonGBThis is the essence - 'How can a doctor, of all people, not take a stand?' from Dr Catherine Wilkerson's letter. We are here to heal - all of us humans; how should we stand seeing little ones burned and blown apart. How does a totalitarian ally of the US treat a fellow doctor, Fl Lt Malcolm Kendall-Smith, who refused to return to Iraq for the third time? He was imprisoned with common criminals for obeying the Nuremberg Rules. A doctor and surgeon salutes you Dr Wilkerson for your truth and courage. And if you want a break in beauty and solitude, there is a welcome on Dartmoor. The last two messages here are the nub of Dr Wilkerson's cri de coeur http://www.doveanddolphin.co.uk/news_detail.asp?ID=166
Daniel BurnsteinSt. PetersburgFloridaUSI believe this action will expose the Packard Community Clinic to an action for violation of the 1st Amendment rights of US citizens to free speech and right of assembly for speaking her mind on the morality of the Israeli state. Others may agree or disagree with her, but under our Constitution her rights to speak her opinions on these matters is clear.
Patrick Dyer, PhDToledoOhioUSKeep Dr. Wilkerson. Terminate Zionism!
maher Halawa, frcs, mch(orth)plymouthdevonGBIt is beyond belief that this is happening in the counyry that tells us it is leading the world for democracy.

GorianBrooklynNYUSWe should all stand up to the rights that the nations founders have fought and bleed for and deemed essential to all men. The oppression and submission of these rights today, are represented by the same antagonistic figures the Founders fought against back then, and the very ones who also benefit from these rights. Showing full support for the rights of the nation by throwing support behind Dr. Catherine Wilkerson

Dr. and Mrs. Thomas and Anne AbowdToledoOHIOUSDr. Wilkerson should be commended for aiding a victim of police brutality who was in a critical condition. She acted as any physician should in an emergency situation, and in a nonviolent, rational manner. We support her heartily.

Dr.C.J.Burns-Cox MDWotton-under-EdgeGloucestershireGBShe ought to be the most valued member of your health care team. She has the highest principles and will not tolerate racism.

Jean C. AllenTuscaloosaAlabamaUSCatherine Wilkerson is a person of character, conscience and courage. I have known her for 62 years (as a sister); and have never known her to be self-absorbed, apathetic, greedy or petty. She has always been willing to go the extra mile and more for the less fortunate, regardless of the expense to her. She is, indeed, being persecuting because of her compassion and courage. She's a fantastic human being!

Margi CrookGrahamALUSI can't believe that Dr Wilkerson would be fired for doing what is right. Let's fire those at Packard Clinic who would do t his to her.

M. BedforthguildfordsurreyGBFrom my understanding of the facts, I would say 'Shame on You' to the Governing Body for bowing to political pressure. You should respect your lady Doctor as a healer and not a destroyer. We have too many of the latter in this country and in yours.
