It has been proposed that Canby, Oregon's Trost Elementary School become a magnet school for minority children. There is a clear history of magnet schools failing. What seems to be a viable answer to a grave problem is known to create even greater problems with children failing and neighborhoods falling into a kind of "Planned Poverty". Together with the NAACP we are working to fight this blatant segregation of a thriving, integrated school.
Please join us in our fight against segregation by signing today. This petition will be shared with the Canby, Oregon school board and the State Government. PLEASE ONLY SIGN IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF CANBY, OREGON SCHOOL DISTRICT. Let our school and government leaders know that we are an integrated people. We are not to be segregated.
