As Steve\'s parent\'s we have encouraged him from an early age to develop his entrepreneurial gifting.
He has done so well with this business and being told to remove the sign he worked so hard to pay for has been a real slap in the face.
If you are a teenager in a village like Cheddar, it\'s the easy option to sit around outside Tescos, drinking, causing an obstruction, intimidating many and leaving a mess.
Here is a lad,(along with a few mates) who has got off his backside, built some bike ramps well away from houses, with permission from the owner and then had to burn them because some johnny from the council feels he just has to report them.
Shortly after, he\'s then told he has to remove the sign advertising his small business that funds his passion for motorsport and keeps him out of the bus shelter.
Planning departments were created to protect us from large developers who without controls would like to cover the countryside in concrete. We need planning control for this and other obvious reasons however whilst some around here seem to run rings round Sedgemoor Planning department and get away with it, their enforcement officers go after the soft targets - no doubt they are measured in volume rather than what we their customers really want to see.
