Buses for Students Living Near Sexual Offenders

The petition

Currently, school bus transportation is provided to students living over two miles from their school. Some sexual offenders are required by law to live a mere 1,000 feet from a public school. Many children are forced to walk or ride their bikes to and from school making them possible victims of a repeat sexual offender. Alachua County Public Schools should develop a policy that provides bus transportation to students, at their parents request, who are living within two miles from their school and have a sexual offender also living within two miles from their school. Please, help keep our children safe!
