Name: Ben Smith on Jan 10, 2007Comments: I thought the stewards were justified in ejecting the guy last night. Why those people couldn't sit down when asked is beyond me! The steward was subjected to a fair amount of abuse and the situation could all have been much different if the guy had just sat down. The stewards and police are there for our saftey and to keep order at a match and were only doing their jobs. I don't see why people can't just sit, standing blocks others views. I am also a little concerned that the "fans director" Andy Liney is winding up the situation by insinuating that the stewards behaviour was attributed to the SMC trying to assert their authority over Doncaster Rovers fans. Surely he should be trying to calm things down In my opinion the stewards and police were doing their job, it is just unfortunate that the ones who speak up about such matters are usually the ones who are embroiled in the situation in the first place. Decent supporters like myself are, I believe the silent majority in matters such as this.Flag

My father is a police officer and regularly works football matches (against his will i might add) and due to disgracefull stewarding, such as the sort witnessed on Tuesday 9th of January he is tarred with the same brush as these flourescent morons who could not pass the test to become traffic wardens!Flag

This is not the stewarding that we want for Doncaster Rovers and this is overshadowing our new home so come on and sort it outFlag

Petty minded jobsworths singling out scapegoats and then heavy handedly ejecting them is not conducive to a positive relationship between customers and event staff. And let's not forget, we ARE paying customers and we have rights.Flag

Why are you doing everything you can to prevent people from enjoying the Keepmoat Stadium Concentrate on sorting the ticket office, not worrying about people harmlessly standing up on the back row.Flag
