This situation does not make sense- if his widow wanted to move him closer to her I would completely understand, but to move him away from people that love him is just cruel. She would be destroying a number of people by doing this.Flag

Name: Tom Maccagno on Oct 25, 2007Address: P.O. Box 1270, Lac La Biche, AB T0A 2C0Comments: May Leo rest in peace. The indignity which may be foisted upon his remains is incomprehensible. There has been more than enough suffering. Will the proposed disinternment reduce or increase that burden of indescribable, never ending suffering. Where is the compassion There are exceptions to most rigid rules. Also, what does Leo's identical twin, Lee, also an RCMP Officer, have to say about his beloved brother May the spirit of love and peace experienced at the dedication of Johnston Lake prevail. Strict adherence to the rules would have prevented this from happening.Flag

Name: Lisa(Larocque) Deering on Oct 25, 2007Address: Red Earth CreekComments: I am originally from Lac La Biche and Leo was a year younger than myself and I remember seeing him walk the hallways in the same schools that I did. I truly believe Leo should be left where he is back home in Lac La Biche where He grew up. My heart goes out to his family on both sides, but I believe Leo is where he belongs.Flag

I would also guess that in a few years she will remarry and start a new life. Too bad the same could not be said for Constable Johnston's mother. A mother is forever.Flag
