With an onslaught of complaints from low level toons complaining about people who roll Need on a dungeon drop when they "seemingly" don't actually "need" it, Blizzard has mentioned bringing the LFR-Style system of personal loot to LFD groups. Although it is an annoyance to see a player need that level 20 ring you could have used, it seems like Blizzard knows no middle ground, or they neglect it to make balancing and game mechanics easier for themselves. Instead of the proposed system, a better answer would be to bring it to only plate wearers can need on plate, only cloth wearers can need on cloth, ect. The main reason I have for defending the current system or supporting a more reasonable system is the fact of relevancy. With stronger gear leveling is easier, but leveling is not a challenge. Even if you end up with the gear you rolled need on, you will outgrow it faster with questing greens. Getting dungeon gear is helpful to be stronger, but unless you're going to be level 25 forever, that lvl 25 chest with 2 strength and 5 stamina isn't going to be worth the bag space when a level 30 upgrade is an hour down the road. Also, personal loot is flawed in the sense that it doesn't know what gear you need as far as upgrades go. You could get a piece of gear you wouldn't touch with a stick because it's such a downgrade while the guy next to you would kill for it. In the current system, you can trade it to him and make his day. In the LFR system, it's not possible to trade. Lets not forget the loss of the multiplayer element of the game. It's good to see people watch a boss drop the gear they were begging for and rolling greed so they can finally have it. I like saying grats to players who are elated with their luck. With the loot bags, its just like "oh, cool". In conclusion, Blizzard has allowed complaints to ruin another aspect of the game that isn't causing any actual harm to the game. Hate the players for ninjaing, not the game. Players change, if the game sucks, it sucks (to put it bluntly) Sign this petition and help keep Blizzard from compromising to complaints.
