Comments: Can't believe they're trying again. Do we want to let out the pollution, armaments, mercury etc.etc in the land and leech it into the river? Can Bradford's weak infra structure -roads, water system, drainage, polluted air support more people? Do we have to accept a devalued way of living all in the name of profit for others. This land was sold to be a town amenity and never built on. A covenant was placed on it, removed in a secret Wilts County meeting.Duncan Hames reinstated it!

Comments: How many times do we have to go through this fiasco? No one wants this development which is blatant profiteering - it's not sustainable and it's not in the interest of the town or it's inhabitants.

Comments: This is a unregulated landfill site which is potentially extremely hazardous. There is no suitable road access to the site and Bradford on Avon is unable to cope with increased traffic levels.

Comments: I can't believe we are having to do this all over again! Haven't developers got the message?! This is a terrible idea for so many different reasons: namely increased traffic in an already severely stretched town environmental: not only in digging up over a previous waste site but air pollution due to additional traffic ( already increasing due to other developments such as Kingston mills); social: the golf course is a great green space which allows ALL Bradford on Avon residents, young and old, to get out, learn a sport and stay fit and active. I often see many young people on the course using it with respect. It's a vital resource in an area that does not cater much for the 22-18 year old age range. WE MUST KEEP THE GOLF COURSE!! Comments: I agree, we mustn't stop trying to STOP THEM!!! We could also remind the Council to stick with it's preferred option of the Moulton site on the Melksham road as advertised in February via their roadshows and, therefore, give no consideration to this discussion.

Comments: i think it would be a real shame to loose even more green land from the area and would be worried about the impact on helth as nobody really knows what contaminants are in the old land fill site.

Comments: . There is little enough open space in Bradford as it is - the Wiltshire Council should compulsory purchase the site if all else fails with a view to creating a Park/common. Failure to safeguard the site would be catastrophic enviromentally.

Comments: The land is toxic. I examined the report submitted last September and five hazardous benzine chemicals, and many other corcenogenic substances, had been shown to lie not far beneath the grass of the golf course. What kind of person is it whose craving for profit overrides conscience and pass off the land as gardens for tomorrows BoA children?

Comments: Increasing housing in Bradford on Avon is also increasing the traffic, in a town that is already the most polluted town in Wiltshire. Let's keep our town as it is!

Comments: Bradford on Avon is such a beautiful town which is being spoit by an increase in traffic and housing expansion. We should be proud of our heritage and areas of green around and within our towns and do our very best to preserve them. The golf club is a great recreational area for the people of Bradford and is always in regular use when I visit my brother there at all times of the year. I am sure they are other areas more suitable for expansion in larger towns and cities.

Comments: I sincerely hope that the Council will not be swayed by any incentives that Barratt Homes will no doubt offer in order to build on the golf course. I imagine as they are a bigger commodity to deal with than the previous applicants that they will have more 'clout'. Time will tell.....

Comments: We now have a greater understanding of the contamintants in the land and a lot more focus on the real figures for traffic increase and pressure on town resorces as a result of the planning application. This dams this plan to start with. Un-realistic traffic access plans are major loss and diruption to peoples lives but what we must know is the long term health issues of disturbing this waste. This damage to people could take many years to come to the fore and it must be a prime agrument against this development.

Comments: I drive to see my friend in Mythern Meadow once a week and have to put up an already intolerable level of traffic congestion. Bradford-upon-Avon is, from experience as a visitor, already over-populated. Yet more housing will simply exacerbate the problem, impacting on the residents of the area and those who access it. It is plain to see that the housing areas immediately next to the golf course maintains a precarious balance between tarmac and natural world. Building on the golf course will strip the area of its natural surroundings - a huge blow to this balance - and this will inevitably impact on the families who live there. I know that my friends, who have recently started a family and live right on the edge of the course, are deeply concerned by the proposed plans. I believe it is grossly unfair to impose such a violent change to the environment, and in turn inflicting stress on those who were there first. Surely there are more suitable places which would cause less disruption?
