Request for Traffic Calming Measures/Speed Bumps, Additional Signage
We are requesting that the City of El Paso/Dept. of Transportation begin Traffic Calming Measures by the way of Speed Bumps/Humps, Additional Signs, and Traffic monitoring. There has been an increase in accidents on Bermuda as result of speeding, cut-through traffic and the road construction project on Montana in front of Eastwood High School. Such Measures will provide a safer environment for our neighbors, their families and pets as well as the many drivers that utilize Bermuda as part of their regular route. Because we are in such close proximity to Eastwood High School, there are children who regularly cross Bermuda on their way to and from school as well student athletes who often cross Bermuda during their practice runs. The installation of speed humps or other traffic calming measures will decrease speeding and ensure safer conditions for the cut-through traffic and allow peace of mind for the Residents of Bermuda Ave. as well as the parents of neighboring Eastwood Students. Thank you for taking the time to sign this petition. (If you reside on Bermuda between Wedgewood and McRae and would like to sign in support, please contact me to arrange signing a physical petition.)
