I agree Trent should not start but he should not be treated like this. Did you just become a Chiefs fan this year because they made it to the playoffs.Flag

Name: N. Bennett on Jan 10, 2007Comments: There's nothing wrong with Trent Green. He's a great quarterback with an accurate arm IF he gets a second or two to make the reads and throw the ball. I'm not sure if everyone watched the same game as I did, but there were numerous DROPPED balls, and little time to set up. Has anyone questioned Jordan Blacks play Come on people..... This team has far worse problems than Trent Green .... I would agree the game plan wasn't great! GO CHIEFS!!!Flag

Name: Jesse-James on Jan 10, 2007Comments: Chiefs fans are known around the league as some of the most classy and loyal fans there are, and you are doing everything you can to change that image. It is disgusting. You have an opinion, great. But stepping down to personal attacks and belittlement of one of the best people to be part of this organization is downright childish and uncalled for. Amazing what a short term memory some people have.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 10, 2007Comments: Dump Trent... You have got to be kidding. If Trent wants to retire it's understandable. But I wouldn't dump him for anybody. He has been an inspiration to this team and this town. Anyone who blames him for the loss must not know anything about football! There were two dropped passes on our first two third down attempts that would have resulted in first downs. Sometimes it just wasn't meant to be. Get off the negative bandwagon and use your head. Look at his freakin' numbers folks. Trent has been at or near the top the last four seasons (not counting 2006 and the mack truck incident). Dump Trent, what a joke. Shame on you lady.Flag

Name: Darin on Jan 11, 2007Comments: Wake up!!! Your false god of Damon is only the product of a watered down system that was given to him. We did not see all the shifting and movement when Damon was the QB. The offense that the Chiefs have been runnig for the last several years was not the same Damon ran when he was on part time duty. Trent on the other hand was given the opportunity to use the whole offense (which was a coaching error) without the supporting cast, we are used to. We no longer have a pro bowl left takle or a full back that can help block. You can hit the snooze bar and keep dreaming if you think that the only problem we have is the QB.Flag

I saw Tony G drop a pass when he was wide open, i saw Dante H drop passes, Eddie K dropped pass. Trent can only throw the ball he can't catch it also.Flag

Name: Brian Hamm on Jan 12, 2007Comments: I don't know who this person is that is ranting on the home page of this website but a few of their facts are wrong. This is not the same offense as when Vermeil was coaching. The offensive line coach is different, the offensive coordinator is different, and chiefs fans might remember that we had a big monster of a left tackle named "Big Willie Roaf" and a younger Will Shields, and a younger Eddie Kennison. Also it is a new philosophy despite what Herm says about the Offensive philosophy being the same.We don't have the personnel to run the Vermeil offense.Don't get me wrong,I'm as frustrated and disappointed as anyone, but I also realize that Herm was handed a flawed team.Do I think that Herm and Solari made some mistakesYes.I especially disagree with Herms decision to leave Green in for the second half of the game in Indianapolis when he was completely inept.Of course that may have been Carl Peterson's decision. If it was, then Carl needs to butt out and do his own job and leave the coaching and coaching decisions to the coaches. Also our offensive game plan is way to predictable. That needs to change. We need to be more creative with our plays.I'm certain that Mr. Solari learned a few tricks during the time he spent behind Al Saunders. Now is the time to use them. Also we need some new offensive linemen and maybe a new offensive line coach.I understand Green screwed up but you have to think about all the circumstances.I don't agree with the statements about the offensive line not trusting Green.I think it is the other way around.I think Green does not trust the offensive line to protect him.It is kind of hard to throw accurate passes if you are constantly worried about getting blindsided.Notice that after the snap,Trent would always take a second to look to his left to see if the defender had beat the pass protection. With Willie Roaf he didn't have to worry about that.Another thing to consider is conditioning.A concussion is different from other injuries because you can't lift weights or do anything but sit around and wait for your injury to heal. The bottom line is this; Trent Green is a good man and has a wife and two kids.He has done outstanding things the past four or five years offensively and with lesser receivers than other teams. He has been actively involoved and done many positive things for the community and provides a good role model for kids.He has remained optimistic in the face of adversity and never stooped to the level of pointing fingers or calling out teammates(offensive line, wide receivers) and always takes the responsibility for problems with the offense on his shoulders.Once again I am very frustrated, angry, and dissappointed with the chiefs but to single out Trent Green is wrong.I also think Herm deserves a pat on the back.I know we had some offensive problems but the guy came in and took a defense that ranked 27th overall and jumped them twelve slots up to 15th overall. The first year as head coach of a new team is always a learning experience.Just remember that Vermeils first year was not that great either. We will iron our offensive problems out in the offseason in free agency and I am confident we will have another good draft. We might get someone like Dwayne Jarrett ((WR) from USC or a high profile left tackle.I just think we owe alot to Trent Green. At the very least he should be allowed to come back and compete for his job and prove he still has "the stuff".Flag

Name: Bill Leftridge on Jan 12, 2007Comments: I am amazed that anyone who follows football and the Chiefs can even dream that Trent Green is responsible for the Chiefs woes. In addition to that, can dream that Damon Huard is the answer. I won't deny that Trent struggled this year - concussion or no concussion. I blame this on a number of things: poor offensive line performance, poor offensive coordinator, age and some poor decisions. This does not translate into a bad QB nor does it erase the multiple years of excellent QB ratings and leading one of the best offenses in all of football. Remind me, who was that then Damon Huard did a nice job in Trent's place. However, he has never one a big game nor did he face any tough defenses during his time at QB. Wait, he did face a tough defense (Miami) and lost.Flag

Name: Cory on Jan 14, 2007Comments: I don't thing it is a good idea to keep Damon. He is barely younger then Trent with less expierence. I think it would be great if they could restruct Trent's remaining contract and make him a backup. Then go out and find a young quarterback in the draft or freeagent. Or if Brodie is the man then lets get him started now. If Trent refuses to take the back seat. Then as much as I love you Trent. It is time to hang them up!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 14, 2007Comments: Trent has done so well in years past. Although he's not the same player as he was before the injury, he's still a great leader on the field. He's been a leader for the team for years, and I don't know how you could ever say he hasn't been one. It's not his fault we have no receivers that can catch a pass... take that last game against the Colts, for example. He made some really great passes, but nobody can hold on to a pass. And where's the offensive line There is none! If they've lost faith in anybody, I think it's Herm Edwards. Stay with Trent!Flag

Name: Troy Busenitz on Jan 19, 2007Comments: Trent Green is what an NFL quarterback is suppose to be. He is smart, accurate, competitive, and most importantly he is loyal. Trent got hurt trying to make a play with his feet because his line could not protect him all game. Did he ever once criticize his linemen throughout this season He shows some signs that he is unhappy with the way the offense is being ran from a coordinator stand point but he does not "throw anyone uder the bus". Trent has been nothing but classy and productive his whole Chiefs career, and now because he has a very serious head injury and shows signs that he may not be completely right you want to get rid of him He probably should have taken the whole season off but I firmly believe by next season you will see the old Trent Green behind center. So what if you had a CAREER backup quarterback come in and play well. Huard had a shot to win a starting spot in Miami but lost it to JAY FEIDLER!!! Where is Feidler now Before we are so quick to push Green out lets remember how bad the offense was before he got here!!!!!!!Flag

Name: Kale Woods on Jan 20, 2007Comments: Was it Trent that allowed defensive lines to blow past the line of scrimmage and collapse the pocket Was it Trent who wouldn't make adjustments to the offensive game plan Was it Trent who dropped four passes in the loss to the Colts Was it Trent who wouldn't let L. Johnson run outside the tackles in Indy It is not a stretch to say that half of the teams in the league would welcome Trent with open arms. Strong leader. Smart. Poised. Class. Character. Winner. To hang a 9-7 season and a first-round play-off loss around his neck is absurd and shows how little people know about football.Flag

Name: Brad on Jan 22, 2007Comments: I have a great idea - let's get rid of the second-best QB - statistically - of the decade and the second-best QB in franchise history for a guy who couldn't beat out Jay Fiedler in Miami. Let's get rid of a QB who has been nothing but great for Kansas City and the Chiefs, a classy man who is as great of a person as football player. Let's hang this guy for having a few bad games against some of the NFL's best defenses. Chiefs fans logic at its best. Keep Trent.Flag
