Name: Alexis King on Jun 29, 2002State: ALCountry: USComments: The US hasn't learned anything yet from the 9/11 attacks. I know that was a wake up call from God telling everyone they need to get their soul right with Him you can read about the last days in the book of Revelation. Obviously the government hasn't picked up a Bible well let me help you find it; it's the last book in the New Testament. This country constantly in my eyes is hypocritical after 9/11 the point in God we trust was stressed day in and day out we even had a national day of prayer and now you say God no longer exists. If it wasn't for God none of us would wake up to see another day, this nation would not have made the advancements it has, and no telling what else would have happened. All I have to say is everyone in this nation better get their souls right with God because He is on way back so you better get ready.Flag

Name: Angela Hubbard on Jun 29, 2002State: ALCountry: USComments: I just don’t understand what is going on in this country anymore. Why do we have to accommodate or cater to the individual needs of one person and his or her personal beliefs Who you choose to worship or believe in is your business. And your choice, believe in God or not it's up to you. You don't like the fact that we say one nation under God. No problem......this is when you put your chooser to working for you. Evaluate how important that issue is to you. Will it directly affect you If its not going to affect you...no issue ...no brainier. Stay out of it. If it bothers you so bad you can't stand it.... it’s time to go. Simple ...isn’t it. There are plenty of places where you can believe in whatever you wish. America is a nation that was formed one nation one heart under God. A very strong, and proud nation. A country where we could be proud of our heritage, beliefs and our way of life. We have always reserved the right to agree to disagree. That is what makes us America. Our strength has been our power to choose. Not the power of the opinion. The majority rules. Today we have gone so far to the left. We are trying so hard to make a good impression until we have forgotten the very principals that made us great. Trying to do the politically correct thing and make everybody happy isn’t always the best answer. We have forgot about our values and the things that made us so great. We are far off of the path that was laid down before us. Sometimes, I am almost ashamed to contrast how much we have and how little wisdom we use. On the other hand, I am ashamed of this decision that was handed down by that judge. I for one don’t feel like I need a person in his frame of mind speaking on my behalf. He was so embarrassed and undecided that he with drew his own decision In shame and embarrassment. Important decisions like this one should be decided by (we) the people. We should have the last word on issues that will have an impact like this one will have on us. After all we are the ones that will ultimately have to live with it. But then again, no system is completely fool proof. Look at what happened in our last big election. In closing from the actions shown here with this judge and judicial branch. I feel we no longer need this type of representation to decide for us. I say let the people choose. And as you can see by our comments here and support from around the country we have chosen God.Flag

Name: Christy Bobo on Jun 30, 2002State: ALCountry: USComments: If the phrase was sufficient for our founding fathers then it should be sufficient now. This Country was founded on Christian principles and beliefs. If those principles are offensive to any person then that person should go to a country where they are more comfortable. It is a shame that a powerhouse such as the United States of America would even consider changing an institution such as the pledge of allegiance in order to be politically correct.Flag

Name: LaQuita Middleton on Jun 30, 2002State: KYCountry: USComments: First of all, students should not be FORCED to recite the pledge in school--or anywhere. Most of us just live in America and are not patriotic--so why should those people (including myself) be forced to say this pledge In light of the terrorist attacks, we (Americans) should be looking to keep God in everything that we do. If our President can get on television and quote scriptures from Psalms of the Bible; if on every form of currency in America, the words "In God We Trust" are found; if we can call on the Heavenly Father whenever we (USA)are in need, we should be able to call on Him in our pledge of allegiance. We should look to pledging to the Father in heaven, instead of pledging to a flag that means nothing positive to people who are not characterized as the mainstream class.Flag
