Name: Anonymous on Jan 9, 2009Comments: Do you want people from throughout the city to sign the petition, or just people from the 7th District The 7th District has plenty of smart, capable people. It is beyond bizarre that anyone would even consider bringing in a "ringer." What an insult!Flag

Name: Tovah Bazely on Jan 9, 2009Comments: I cannot believe that after the citizens of the 7th district made it clear who we wanted to represent us, that we now have to worry about this!! I am completely astounded.Flag

Name: Joseph B. Fawley on Jan 9, 2009Comments: Please consider the persons who are actively promoting the interests of the people of the district. I would especially recommend consideration of Matt Conrad and John Murden as particularly suited to the task at hand.Flag

Name: Keith West on Jan 11, 2009Comments: It is an insult to the residents of this district for someone to think they can import a candidate. The only reason I can think of to do it is that the transplant would be more likely to represent the interests of the importer than the district they are supposed to serve.Flag

Name: Kirsten Hossaini on Jan 12, 2009Comments: We have plenty of fully qualified, hard working, intelligent residents in the 7th to choose from for the recently vacated seat. There is no need to move someone into our district for that position. It is insulting to all of us 7th district residents.Flag

Name: Kimberly M. Chen on Jan 12, 2009Comments: Even though this is a temporary appointment and the person will need to seek election in November, it is imperative that the appointee be a resident of the 7th District. It is rumored that a leading candidate for appointment is not a resident of the community. All care should be taken to establish residency and verify that any person considered has not recently relocated to the community for the sole purpose of being appointed. This should be a transparent process with citizen input as this person will be representing the community for 10 months.Flag

Name: Eva A. Cole ( Polly A.) on Jan 12, 2009Comments: I am appalled that City Council would even think of appointing a respresentative for me that does not live in my district. Our representative must be someone that knows and understands the wide variety of cultural and socioeconomic groups that are present in our district. Therefore, the candiate must have LIVED in our district for more than a couple of months or even years!Flag

Name: Julie Krajicek on Jan 12, 2009Comments: The 7th District appointment needs a representative from the 7th District who has been a resident of the 7th district for a substantial period of time. When an election is held for the seat, anyone can run if the meet the criteria but with a representative being appointed at this time, the city council should only consider long standing 7th district residents.Flag
