| 1062 | Natalie Brown | The CIDA internship program provided me with an invaluable opportunity to gain experience in the field of Information and Communications for Development (ICT4D.)
If the Government of Canada wishes for Canadians to be able to actively participate in global debates and initiatives over the future of international cooperation and development, cancellation of the only program which arms young Canadians with on-the-job skills and networking opportunities in development would be an extremely shortsighted move, ultimately proving far more costly in terms of lost human capital than current and future IYIP program expenditures. |
| 1063 | Laura Prazeres | Current intern in Brazil (2008-09) working as an Environmental Education and Leadership Development officer. This is an invaluable learning experience that allows young adults to enlarge their understanding of the world, contribute to worthy causes and organizations, encourage and promote development, and enrich their lives and future goals through a meaningful experience that can only have benefits for every party involved. Please continue funding and support for this unique program. |

| 1072 | Satya Ramen | This program is critical to our ability to support our southern partners. It is of tremendous value to the intern, who is growing and learning, but also to the community. This is one of the ways that we can meet our MDGs and also support our international partners. |

| 1076 | Chantelle Kennedy | I have participated in the IYIP. It would be a tragedy to end the program! I have gained valuable skills due to this program, and I am a better person because I was given the chance to work overseas! |

| 1079 | Kerrie Crouch | A coworker had the opportunity to experience this program first hand... the job knowledge and culture experience is something she carries with her for the rest of her life.
One of the best programs, I strongly support this petition to keep this program running! |
| 1080 | Janelle McMaster | This is a great program. I have heard nothing but good things about it, life changing stories. If it continues I would encourage my school age children to apply. Yours Truly |

| 1099 | Anonymous | It has been three years that I am waiting to gratuate in 2009 to finally be able to apply to the CIDA internship programme. The CIDA Internship is a unique programme enabling young Canadians to develop their careers internationally in the non-profit sector. Please continue encouraging the next generation to make the world a better place. |
