| 1001 | Tara Cox | I was very disturbed to discover that the program has been cancelled. I am graduating from University Western Ontario in April. I had been looking forward to applying for 2 years now. |
| 1002 | Luke Raftis | This is a good example of an effective and efficient program which provides major benefits for both participants and the international community. We should fund and expand the IYIP! |
| 1003 | Mike Dirk | I took this program and it greatly affected my career choices in a positive way!
Please continue to provide these opportunities to others!! |
| 1004 | Anonymous | Complete disappointment in the Harper Government if its not renewed. This would be a huge loss.... |
| 1005 | Robert Beattie | I have personally met several interns over the years in the village in Guatemala where my wife and I live a large part of the year, and consider the program exceptionally good |

| 1009 | Rossana Tudo | A lot of recent graduates, including myself, have been banking on this opportunity in order to gain valuable experience. It would be extremely unfortunate to see this program be cancelled. |

| 1012 | Greg Spira | |
| 1013 | Elena Klimenko | |
| 1014 | Kristen Herrington | I am an International Development student and depend on programs such as this not only for post-University employment opportunities, but more importantly, for the opportunity to experience first hand the value of one person helping another. I hope that you will consider doing the same. |
| 1015 | Catherine Theriault | |
| 1016 | Ryan Tucker | As a past CIDA intern myself and now a director for Youth Challenge International (a global youth development organization that has sent a total of 87 Youth Employment Strategy interns overseas since 1997) I can personally attest to the incredible value of these internships. Our CIDA interns have provided core international programming support time and time again and the professional opportunities that exist in gaining hands on practical experience at the field level through these posts have been highlighted by our intern alumni for years. Please keep this opportunity open; it is a model of mutually beneficial partnership and learning! |
| 1017 | Piyali Chakraborti | I went on a CIDA funded internship to Ghana, and it was the most inspiring experience of my life...I learned so much and felt that I made a contribution to capacity building and international development for women working to over come social injustices. KEEP IYIP! |
| 1018 | Parker Mah | |
| 1019 | Harold Goldin | I see positive benefit from this program:
- the university graduates get work experience and develop valuable network resources,
- the Canadian organizations get a helping hand with their work
-Canada shows its commitment to helping young professionals gain international experience |
| 1020 | Abhi Sethi | Please keep the program!! I was going to apply for an internship this coming Spring (2009). It is an incredible opportunity that many students look forward to exploiting after graduating from university. |
| 1021 | Susan Brown | I am the past Chief of the Peacebuilding Unit at CIDA, and the Cdn representative at the OECD/DAC Task Force on Conflict, Peace and Development. I am currently a professor in Human Security and Peacebuilding at Royal Roads University, and also in the Political Science Department of Wilfrid Laurier University in Peace and Conflict Impact Assessment, I know that the YIP is a critical step for young graduates to enter the international field. The OECD/DAC advocates that Governments need to mainstream these critical skills into their programming. Why is that these programs only seem to disappear when the Conservatives are in power? |
| 1022 | Robert Loveless | The International Youth Internship Program is the essence of what we want the world to become. Please continue it. |
| 1023 | Rebecca MacDonald | |
| 1024 | Kaitie Worobec | I am a 5th year university student with a strong interest in international development. I was planning to apply for a CIDA internship in the 2009-10 and if the IYIP program is cancelled, it will be much more difficult for me to gain experience in this field. |

| 1026 | Anne Marie Kavanaugh | |
| 1027 | Emily Trainor | |
| 1028 | Burke Vindevoghel | This program is far too effective to think about cancelling it. It shapes youth into leaders in Canada by learning first hand about development issues around the world, and applying that to life back home. |
| 1029 | Kristine Smith | |
| 1030 | Nicole LeBlanc | This is a very important program.
I hope it will continue |

| 1033 | Anonymous | We really hope that the Canadian Government sees this program as an important program both for developing young professionals in Canada and for building capacity overseas. It would be nice to see the government consider enhancing this program to provide internship opportunities both for young Canadians and for young professionals from developing countries. |

| 1035 | Carl Isaak | |
| 1036 | Maria Marealle | The programme added value and continue to buil capacity to Dar es Salaam Local Authorities on their ongoing Poverty Reduction initiatives. The assistance is still required as we are still in need of the collaboration |
| 1037 | Meghan Muldoon | |
| 1038 | Chris Hibbs | |
| 1039 | Laura Beckwith | |
| 1040 | Sara Blenkhorn | it changed my life! |
| 1041 | Emily Agopsowicz | This program is hugely important to personal and professional development for young Canadians, whether they go on to pursue international development or not. Closing this door would be closing opportunities for many hard-working and passionate Canadian youth. |
| 1042 | Lauren Scannell | |
| 1043 | Sarah Saunders | I think the CIDA program is an amazing way to aid development in foreign countries, and it is also a great way for the young people of our country to gain experience working with other cultures. I had the privlege of having a CIDA position for the 2007-2008 year, and it was one of the most memerable and rewarding experiences of my life. Please do not cancel these internships. |
