Name: Joe McFadden on Feb 12, 2013Comments: This is not a good decision on the IOCs part. Wrestling is one of the oldest sports in the world. Wrestling has also been in the Olympics since the days of the Greek Olympics. The sport is one of the most physically demanding in the world, and it also has the benefit of being easy for either rich or poor to get into allowing for a more diverse population to participate. I would like the IOC to reconsider their decision.Flag

Name: Paul Kim on Feb 12, 2013Comments: The decision is an absolute disgrace, and must've been the result of corruption (would like to know what conflicts-of-interests are present among the voting IOC members). What a joke. Wrestling and Track & Field should never be subject to such a vote, there are the foundation of the Olympic Games.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 15, 2013Comments: To lose a tradition like wrestling at the Olympic Games would be tragic. Wrestling is one of the building blocks of the Olympics, part of its origin, history and future. The Olypmic Committee needs to stop making everything political and about money. It's time to remember the foundation / roots of why the Olympics started. Not rely on who can pay the most for advertising.Flag

Name: Angel Solis on Feb 16, 2013Comments: To remove wrestling from the Olympics would be a true tragedy, as it is one of the oldest olympic sports. It teaches people from all walks of life, from poor to rich, from perfectly healthy to physically challenged, to overcome all odds and obstacles in their path to reach their dreams on and off the mat. There is no other sport in the olympics in which an amputee, a blind person, and a deaf person could all compete in the same field. The sport of wrestling has helped to create many great people and leaders in the world to discount it as one of the core olympic sports.Flag

Name: Laura Miller on Feb 16, 2013Comments: Wrestling is a "pure" sport -- the equipment is basic and affordable so the focus is really on the athlete, not the shoes, the clothing, the venue. Individual drive and ability, but mostly drive, are what count in this sport, which notably can include participants both male and female, able-bodied and impaired, economically well-off and economically disadvantaged. And wrestling's reach is international, intercultural -- sound more Olympic to me than fencing or the equestrian arts.Flag

Name: Marina on Mar 4, 2013Comments: If a human person does not have innistirc worth in the womb, it never has. The problem as I see it is that the Western democracies can hardly tell China how to act, when they have themselves undermined human nature, by calling unborn human beings blobs of tissue . I mean, come on, get real people. Lets end all abortion. Its not good the children, nor for women in the Western world either, although there is an illusion of choice here. Read the studies on psychological trauma which follows. Lets not be hypocrites.Flag
