Final supporters
But as a wave of gentrification sweeps across this neighbourhood, recent arrivals have taken exception to this wonderful institution.
The purpose of this petition is to show support for the Wise Hall and everything it adds to the community, and to ensure the City of Vancouver doesn't give into a small smattering of NIMBYs.
Don't let a couple of ne'er-do-wells ruin a truly unique institution that is valued by thousands of Vancouverites.
Sign this petition to show your support for the WISE HALL and let the City of Vancouver know how valued the Wise Hall is by its East Van neighbours.
*Just so we're clear, THE WISE IS NOT BEING SHUT DOWN.
There have been a bunch complaints from some neighbours who would love nothing more than to see the Wise Hall closed down.
IF the liquor licence gets pulled, it would be CATASTROPHIC for the Wise Hall. Beer money is the only thing holding that place together.
Obviously, we don't want it to get to that point.
The purpose of this petition is to show the powers that be how important the Wise Hall is to us.
So if you love the Wise, sign the petition, re-up your membership, and when you're going outside for a smoke, please be quiet and respect the neighbours.

I am honestly stunned to see that one thousand people have stepped up for the Wise Hall. This belongs entirely to you because I truly never expected this level of care for our home.

East Van wouldnt be the same without the wise. Keep it open!!
love this place so much. always have the best shows and the vibe is unmatched. really hope the noise complaints dont ruin it for everyone else.
The Wise is a gem. Been going there since the 90s and it would be a total shame to lose such a solid local spot over a few grumpy people who moved in last week.
So tired of boring people moving into our neighborhood and trying to kill all the culture. Leave the Wise alone.

I am new to Vancouver and when I came across the Wise Hall I was so delighted and enthusiastic about its functions and events.Giving it all my support whenever I can.
