I have personally been going to the wight rock for over 6 years and it is like me second home, i love the owners to bits and they have the best hearts going. I personally shall go out of my way to make sure that the wight rock stays open. Thats a promise.Flag

Name: Jonathan Weldon on Jan 29, 2013Comments: It would be a huge loss to the islands music scene as it is the only music venue to souly accomidate live acts. It has also played a vital role in giving young acts and new musicians confidence in playing music to a live crowd, I know this as fact as the venue and its owners helped me. It is also a great place for artists and musicians to meet and form connections wich help the islands music scene. If this venue was to shut down like many on the island before it then it truly would mark the end of the live musice scene on the island as we know it and it would conferm every musicians thorghts about the I.O.W council and that is they dont give a damm about the islands once vibrent music sceneFlag

Name: Joe Perkins on Jan 29, 2013Comments: I lived on the Isle of Wight between 2009 and 2012 when I was studying for a BA (Hons) degree through Platform One College of Music. The Wight Rock bar is unarguably a fundamental asset to maintaining the island's rich local music scene and is also a central hub for a huge proportion of island youth social life. Allowing local bands to host their own evenings of entertainment without charging them a fee, the Wight Rock Bar allows the homegrown talent to hone their skills and also make a few pennies whilst they're at it. Removing the venue's license would be a huge nail in the coffin for local artists and fans of music - we cannot afford to let this happen.Flag

Name: Murfy on Feb 1, 2013Comments: The loss of the Wight Rock's music licence would be a loss to the musical infrastructure. On an island brimming with young, talented and eager musicians, but barely a handful of decent venues, this would be tantamount to knocking the crutches away from the already crippled music scene. Don't let the curmudgeons grind you down!Flag
