Comments: We put the native americans on reservation with poor conditions, dont try to change that, but want to change a organization who have no intention of being derrogatory to their culture, only keeping the native american heritage alive.

Comments: I think the name could instill fear in opponents and carries some pride with that fact. Too many people are catering to the PC and "I'm offended" crowd. Many of my American Indian friends actually are proud of the name.

Comments: This team has been the Redskins for almost 80 years, and the name is a part of Washington, DC. As the heart and soul of the city's sports landscape, I as a fan ask that they leave our team alone.

Comments: Changing the name would be insinsitive to the memory of the former coach. It is regretable this foolishness has reared its head at a time when D.C. is in critical financial waters. The public has long since lost confidence in the off of the mayor. This is a step backward and based on hearsay and nonsense. Go Redskins

Comments: I would hate for my beloved team to be considered intolerant or offensive, but don't think this is the case at all. This is just a longstanding name, which history and tradition should uphold, with the complete understanding that no offense is meant. there are way bigger fish to fry so let's focus on something that actually makes a difference.

Comments: They should be proud of their heritage and stop using racism as an excuse. So sick of people always saying something is racist. Obviously they are racist if that is how they want to view it. Next thing you know we'll have to change the name of French fries!!

Comments: My future wife, who is 10% to 20% cherokee, does not at all consider the team name racist. She is proud of the name. Like me, she thinks the opposition is reading into this way to deeply and are assuming where there's smoke therefore must warent fire. The day they change the name, is the day we are fan of just the Patriots. The Redskins is an honorable name that represents valor and honor. Anyone who uses that word to be directly deorgitory and bigoted are not welcome by the Redskins football nation or the fans. Keep the name.
