Music can be helpful to students in so many ways, both academically and emotionally. It helps children be creative and can be a very peaceful way for them to vent their feelings. But, due to the recent economic downfall, many public schools have been cutting funding to the music department, some going as far as cutting the music programs all together! There have been many studies done that have proven the effect of music in a child's grades and even on standardized test. We cannot let our public schools remove music from their curriculum! If we allow music to be cancelled from public schools, not only will the childrens grades be affected but their emotional well being is at risk! Today, is the day to make our voice be heard.
