Name: Rosemary Steward on Oct 5, 2012Comments: The number of students who have benefited from the Entrepreneurship Program at Gwendolyn Brooks college Preparatory Academy is a living testament to the school's academic excellence. Not only have many students won thousands dollars through local, regional and national business plan competitions, thousands of dollars in college scholarships, but they have been invited by internationally organizations to share their experiences with others about the value of Entrepreneurship education. The Entrepreneurship Program at Brooks Academy under the instruction of it's teacher, Mr. Scott Steward is a model program. It would be academically irresponsible to eliminate this award winning program, and it's teacher, Mr. Scott Steward. After all, isn't leadership skills, critical thinking, and ultimately job creation the educational goal of Gwendolyn Brook College Preparatory Academy along with the job creation goals for our country? Well, Mr.Scott Steward, teacher par-excellence, at Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory Academy is preparing the students of his Entrepreneurship Program to achieve those goals for themselves, the school, and our country. So, to the school leadership: You have an award-winning Entrepreneurship Program because of Mr. Scott Steward, a skilled, competent, inspirational, and dedicated teacher. KEEP MR. SCOTT STEWARD, KEEP THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM, KEEP THE AWARD-WINNING REPUTATION OF GWENDOLYN BOOKS COLLEGE PREPARATORY ACADEMY!Flag

Name: Vincent Brooks on Oct 5, 2012Comments: To be honest, I felt very offended to see that one of the most important classes and the most influential teacher I've ever come across could potentially cease to exist at Brooks college prep. With Mr. Steward being my division teacher, I knew him from day one of my high school career. I have not changed much in how I like to live wisely but as a freshmen I was still very young and rough around the edges but Mr. Steward opened my eyes to so many new things and possibilities in my life and this was through advisory alone. Having Mr. Steward as a business teacher was an added bonus because as students it allowed us even more of this man's time. In Steward's business class, it was never easy, we got to know him on a level where he was like an uncle to all of us but even with that he never stopped pushing us. With him as a business teacher, it completely changed what it is I want to do in life. I went from wanting to be an engineer to being extremely passionate about business. He taught us the importance of working for yourself instead of someone else. He taught us about delayed gratification and investing. There is so much I could say that this man has taught me in the last four years. His class is one of the main reasons why I decided not to transfer from Brooks and him being still present there would be one of the main reasons why I would return. Mr. Scott Steward is one of the greatest role models a youth can have in becoming an adult and getting rid of his position would be the worst mistake anyone could make. Thank you, Vincent Brooks (Brooks class of 2012)Flag

Scott Stweard has brought prestige to the school and helped to make it one of the top business programs in the city. It would be an outrage to see an outstanding program such as this and a great teacher like Scott Steward be discontinued.Flag
