For all of those who are against the implementation of a "Quiet Zone" in East Nashville, which would cost $1.5 million of our tax dollars and create an unsafe environment for our neighbors and animals. Let's let our council members know that we don't want the horns to stop. Even the FRA has studied and found that quiet zones increase accidents by more than 60%.

We are music city. People like Johnny cash, Waylon Jennings, and the Fisk jubilee singers were inspired by the Nashville trains. Things like this is what makes our city special.

People who grew up here, or those who have lived here for a long time should not let everything special about the place they love be stripped away until it is just like every other place else in America.

I grew up on Short St where the abandoned bowling alley now stands. From there we re-located to Gillock St, the last house before the train tracks. I personally find the train horns soothing and peaceful. I would be extremely disappointed if they were silenced.

HI! I live one block from the train track and don't mind the horns at all...barely hear them anymore! BUT we have many small, dark crossings that would be dangerous without a audible warning. Please keep the horns. Sincerely, Stephanie

My grandfather worked for the Great Northern Railway and my father worked for BNSF. We grew up next to the tracks and I have always loved the sound of long-long-short-long. Don't let yuppies take away the safety and character of our neighborhoods.

I grew up in a small town in AL, where there are many crossings with no signal or guard rails. If you've ever seen a car (and person within) demolished by a train, you'll vote to keep the horn. In reality, it's a small price to pay to keep our community safe.

I live less than 100yds from where trains blow their horns for the crossings at either end of my block. we are raising a young child and keep our windows open most of the time weather permitting. the horn is not a nuisance. it is informative and helpful. please, let's keep our crossings safe.

I love the sounds of the trains, not only that the sound is meant to alert people to not cross the tracks. I had to Great Aunts crushed in their vehicle because they didn't hear the train coming.
