Keep the Children & Families in Urban America Minor

We, the students at The University of Southern California, petition the USC School of Social Work to maintain the undergraduate minor program, Children & Families in Urban America.
There are many students, both current and incoming, that are interested in the courses that are offered. Because of the inconsistent course offerings as well as the elimination of the program itself, students are discouraged from registration in courses that do will not work towards a major or minor program.
This places both the community and the students at a disadvantage for learning about opportunities within Social Work. Also, the needs and approaches to serving those needs within different communities fails to be addressed in the classroom setting. The undergraduate minor program serves as a gateway for students that might be interested in the graduate program in Social Work.
I strongly request that the USC School of Social Work considers revamping and maintaining the undergraduate minor program, Children & Families in Urban America.
