The people of Piedmont need Walmart, if they leave the elderly population will suffer, many of them cannot drive 40 miles to the closest store. They are the only store in town that's offers such a wide variety of merchandise at a reasonable price.
We come out a couple times a year to visit my family in Piedmont. We stay at the campgrounds. This Walmart is very important to the campers and the campgrounds are important for the community. Closing this Walmart will greatly impact this entire community.
It's not just Piedmont residents that depend on this Wal Mart, I live 12 miles away in Iron County and Go there 3-5 times a week..The staff is hard working and friendly. Please reconsider your decision to move this out of our community. Thanks so much!
I don't understand how you can close this store without another store within 40 miles in any direction. There are other small towns in mo that don't have walmart but none of them are 40+ miles from a WM. You are taking away a lifeline to people in this area.
Shame on you Wal Mart. Sam Walton would be ashamed that his company has become more comcerned with greed and chasing the all mighty dollar than with the well being of it's employees and the communities they serve and that keep them in business.
Please consider coming back to Piedmont! Me and my family frequently come to Piedmont now that we have family living there and as a Walmart employee and shareholder myself I prefer to shop with only Walmart but we cannot do so when we come to Piedmont because there is no store in this area. I think if given a second opportunity a new Walmart Store here would do great business is this small town! Thank you!

The Piedmont Walmart is a asset to our community. It has been our choice for purchasing our prescription medication since we moved here in 2002. The drive to Poplar Bluff is out of the question for many in our area. Please, please, please don't close this store.
