Is a move to the Southern Feeder Pattern (Walton M.S./ Monticello H.S.) in our future? Nov 19. 2012 | Comments (0)
At the November 27 meeting (6:30 p.m.) of the Redistricting Advisory Committee's Western Feeder Pattern subcommittee at Murray Elementary School, there will be discussion of plans to modernize and expand Red Hill Elementary School, currently in the Southern Feeder Pattern (Walton Middle School and Monticello High School). Long-range plans for possible changes to the feeder pattern lines will be discussed.
Although the RAC WFP will not make any decisions about feeder pattern lines, the decisions they make could move some current MLS families into elementary school districts (Murray) that may eventually be changed to the Southern Feeder Pattern. This is an important issue for all members of our community, not only those who have children currently enrolled at MLS. While redistricting to Murray Elelmentary School should not have much of an immediate negative effect on property values in our neighborhood, an eventual move to the Southern Feeder Pattern most certainly will.
As James Younger, one of the MLS representatives on the RAC WFP, has said, "Stay Informed. Get Involved. Be Courteous."
