We the undersigned support retaining the current access to the KVR railbed above Naramata as a multi-use corridor from Smethurst Road to Chute lake, open to everyone including the mobility challenged, tourists and motorized vehicles (including passenger vehicles) that wish to continue to enjoy the KVR and related crown land values.
Would love to ride this area on a dualsport, hope you can keep it open for everyone to use
I agree, the kvr trail should have access to all users, just post a trail etiquette sign as a guide for common courtesy such as a speed limit for motorized vehicles and pulling over and stopping for cyclists, people walking and horse riders etc.
my wife and I ride our motorcycles very slowly on the kvr every year only this year we saw signs for non motorized traffic only, we had one cyclist very irrate and chased us down and was very abusive verbally, I thought hey we have two wheels too! And we are moving slower than bike traffic,
We also met a couple on quads from Kelowna stopped at the north side of the kvr who couldn't get passed the trail posts, they had plans of going to one of the restaurant wineries, it was an annual event for them, they we very disappointed. I think restrictions to the trail to a select few is not only selfish but a detriment to much needed tourist dollars for that area.
Conflict with cyclists is a non-issue. I have never seen any confrontation between groups. The cyclists also need to learn how to "Share The Road"
