Nick Riewoldt may well be the most selfless player in the AFL. He's willing to give up the St Kilda FC captaincy in 2017 for the good of the club. We, the supporters understand that. But he's more than a player to us. He's the heart and soul of the resurgence of our proud club and has lifted this young group up on his strong shoulders.

We, the supporters want him to at least co-captain in 2017. If he continues on, he breaks the AFL's record for most games played as captain. We believe he deserves that accolade. But moreover, we believe the momentum the club currently has will continue with Roo at the helm. Should he stand down or another player be appointed 2017 Captain, we, of course, accept his, and the Club's ultimate decision. But we, the supporters want to let it be known: we want Nick Riewoldt to captain the St Kilda Football Club in 2017.
