Despite Jay Leno's overwhelming popularity(No. 1 in the ratings), NBC is forcing him to retire once again in hopes to, and I quote, "attract younger viewers." Replacing Jay is 38-year-old Jimmy Fallon, who has barely gotten his feet wet as a late night talk show host, not to mention is just not funny. This whole thing reminds me of what happened when NBC offered to give Conan O'Brien the Tonight Show in the past, and we all know what happened then. That stint lasted 7 months. Jay had a brief stint in the prime time slot, which got cancelled four months into it. Talks with NBC proceeded, and the execs offered Jay a half-hour slot while moving the Tonight Show to 12:05/11:05 CT. Conan said "no" to the offer, thereby giving Jay the coveted Tonight Show spot back. The point being, does NBC really need to chase their tails here? The old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" rings true. My hope is to get 1,000,000 signatures and get this petition to the NBC execs. Hopefully they'll have a change of heart.

Olivia Martinez, United States1 year ago Comments: Don't replace Jay, he has been a great host. I grew up watching Johnny and Jay , never missed the show, until they tried to put Conad as host, gave him a chance. Conad was not a good fit for the Tonight show, he was better later in the night, because of his his type of jokes. I don't think Fallon Is ready. He. Is not a good interviewer, he more time on his late show to learn the trade. He gushes all over his guest, I don' t think he could interview an important person. Jay has a lot more years left in him, so I don' t understand why they keep trying to replace a host that has kept the show #1 year after year. I am sure Jay will be offer a new show, but I would like him to stay on the Tonight Show till he is ready to retire. NBC has not learn a thing from their last mistake, that is why their ratings are so bad. KEEP JAY LENO !!!
