Huntington has had 55 fires since Nov. our current administration wants to close a station, which we, the Citizens are concerned about. The City administration believes it will save money, but, it may cost someone their life. Our Fire Department has been running rapidly to put out these 55 fires, running themselves to the point of exhaustion. It is not right that a single Fire Station to be closed. Not even for a single minute. Recently, one Station, Station 5, covering the Guyandotte area, was shut down, for a single day. That day, could be the day, that someone dies in a fire and those engines could've been used. We, as Citizens, of Huntington, want the City to know, that as tax payers and user fee payers, we will not accept this! The City of Huntington, needs to find another way to save money rather than shutting down Fire Stations that could prevent someone from dying in a fire. It's time that WE THE PEOPLE BE HEARD! Please sign the petition, that way the Administration of the City of Huntington knows we will not stand back and let our city burn!
