For ten years, Fanfiction.net has sat idly buy while people have violated the rule they put in place, which barred MA content from their website. Now, that they're actually starting to enforce that rule, the rule breakers are protesting because their fanfictions are being removed, but as parents, relatives, and friends of small children, we need to stop and think about it if MA content is something we want to be hosted on a website our children only need to be thirteen years old to join and post on. For those of you who don't know, the MA rating is defined as: Content is only suitable for mature adults. May contain explicit language and adult themes. This means drugs, violence, and sex in stories posted on a website intended for children and teenagers. Currently, stories of the MA rating are banned from the fanfiction website, but people have begun to protest and if we don't take action now, then stories of such a rating will no longer be posted separately on sister websites such adultfanfiction.net and will be even easier for children to gain access to. By signing this petition, you will help ensure that that does not happen and help make Fanfiction.net, websites like it, and the internet, in general, a safe and clean place for our children to enjoy.
