Keep Ayers Away From FSU

The petition

64% of Florida State University students receive state-funded Bright Futures scholarships through Lottery earnings (paid for by residents and visitors of Florida). These scholarships help to cover tuition and activity fees for each student. Student activity fees are collected by the Student Government Association at FSU then distributed to various student organizations. One of the organizations, the Institute for Liberal Studies is paying known terrorist William Ayers $5000 to come to Florida State University and speak about education reform. As a Florida resident, I am concerned with state funds directly supporting a known terrorist. I demand that public funds NOT be used to bring this unremorseful terrorist, Mr. William Ayers, onto the campus of Florida State University on January 12, 2009.
