Assembly Hall in Champaign, Illinois has been home to the University of Illinois basketball team for over 50 years. The name is part of the tradition of the university, and now the name is being changed to the "State Farm Center." Show your support for this Illinois tradition and keep the name "Assembly Hall" associated with the building. It can incorporate State Farm in the title, but still keep the tradition, such as State Farm Assembly Hall or just Assembly Hall sponsored by State Farm. Illinois atheletic director says, ""From the very early stages of this project, it was clearly apparent that naming rights for the building would play a major part in the funding model. This agreement complements support from campus and our students while supplementing support from the community." I as a student voted for the renovation, but I do not remember voting for a name change, just as many other students did. We have already had one tradition stripped from us in Chief Illiniwek, let's not allow another tradition to be taken from the University of Illinois.
