The department confirmed the safety works at Ballyards are officially moving forward. I am stunned by how quickly things shifted once you all stood up to demand change. This victory belongs entirely to the people who kept the pressure on.

Dear Minister Kennedy,
We the undersigned call on you and your department to take urgent action to have major improvements at Ballyards on the Keady Road, Armagh.
This section of road is a notorious accident black spot and yet Roads Service have failed to take any real and meaningful action to make improvements on the road.
We appeal to you to have urgent works carried out at this stretch of road before someone is killed. This week alone, there have been three separate accidents on the Road with one local lady remaining in hospital because of her injuries.
We urge you to use your Ministerial Office to intervene and have improvements carried out without further delay.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to call for safer roads. We are nearly at one hundred signatures and reaching that mark would be a huge testament to the care you all have for our community.

I think it's the oil lorrys going and coming from Wilsons garage on the Armagh road that's the problem them yokes be leaking like f#%k oil on a wet road be like a skating ring.
I had a accident on this part of road August 2013. Within three months there was 9 accidents here. There was oil or grease on the road. I rang road service that evening to get the road cleaned & they were not interested. Thankfully my son & his reins & my self were all ok just cuts & bruises.
I live less than a mile from ballyards an on many occasions have had to assist those involved in accidents. one factor to consider for everyone the emergency services are in attendance there are thee others where car owners sort out themsrlves . at least put that road surfacing that is used at roundabouts.
I have personally crashed my car on this corner about 5years ago, and my friend crashed in the same place this year, it's rediculous that something hasn't been done already to help the situation before it leads to more deaths on the road.
been too many lucky escapes here,only matter of time before a life is lost,as a member of the local fire service i have saw 1st hand the accidents on this road and i can assure u it a miracle no 1 has been killed,i think the people that have crashed vehicles,injured themselves deserve something to be done before it too late
Extremely dangerous bend where i crashed yrs ago on ice on it. Traffic meet at a narrow section on the bridge whoch is also another bend. Theres a big drop into the river below from this bridge and many vehicles have ceashed into it over the years. Where the ballyards road meets the keady road the road dips meaning traffic travelling onto the keady road are effectively doing a hill start with little time to accelerate before busy traffic are upon them.

My only daughter had a bad car crash at this sight two years ago and was lucky to escape with cuts & sprains.. It really is time for action on this road before someone is killed.. A car can be replaced but a child can't!!
