Name: Amber Mills on Dec 2, 2006Comments: I may only be 18 but through my short years I have worked around animals at home, at friends housese, and at the local human society. I am an active volunteered and have volunteered over 200 hours. I know how an animal should be treated and I know right and wrong. I also know why I am signing this petition. I am signing this to help those who cannot help themselves.; I am signing this to let those who do not allow an animal to have the chance at a good life and a good home know they are wrong; I am signing this because hundreds of families are being deprived of potential family members to protect, play, and love them and others like them; I am signing this petition because it is a vote for a second chance. I want to thank those who fight for these animals will be sending all the hopes and love to these animals and knowledge to those who think that what is being done to these animals is alright, because it is the farthest thing from "alright."Flag

Name: Preston Bawa on Dec 3, 2006Comments: I'd like to take the time to thank the people invovled in trying to and hopefully going to change and better our animal shelter system. Too many animals and not enough compassion makes for some pathetic oversights, and I hope that Kings County takes a hard look into this mess and does the right thing, as the Underdogs are trying to. Hang in ther Katie!!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 4, 2006Comments: I work with the Kings SPCA...and we have been trying to work with Animal Control for awhile. We would take healthy, young, and adoptable dogs from AC when we were able to. A few months ago, we took in 5 dogs from AC, and adopted them out just fine, except for one who had severe respiratory syndrome, which we treated her for, fostered her, and found her a good home. We still accept dogs from AC if we have room to this day, and only a few of the people there are nice to us these days. Sometimes we will call over, or go in and get attitude from the desk clerk. A few of the humane officers are the only ones who treat us like people and actually try to help us. We had a man come into the shelter a few weeks ago who told us that Animal Control wouldn't do anything about his neighbors very rabid dogs. I guess the neighbor had even called AC on his own dogs, and they wouldn't come and remove them. The man that came in said that many times he's been locked inside his house, and wasn't able to go anywhere because those rabid dogs were in his yard and he didn't want to get attacked. One of the dogs have already chased their owner, trying to attack him. And Animal Control did nothing to help. That is one of the reasons Animal Control is here...to remove dangerous animals from the streets....as well as help people find their dogs that they lost, or to try to find lost animals their homes, or new ones.Flag

Name: Shelby Byington on Jan 9, 2007Comments: Please help this cause. I have adopted a dog from the CA Underdogs who came from Kings County Animal Control and he is the best dog I've ever had. Before we could get one of his siblings they were euthanized without any notification. Please help stop this unnecessary killing.Flag

Name: Anonymous on May 10, 2008Comments: I am associted with rescueing animals. I do live in kings county. It is unacceptable, espaccilay the story of the man who's cat got taken there, he came back the next day to get it, he had changed his mind, and they had already put it down. I love my animals, and if one of my indoor, declawed cats gets out, and caught, I know it will be put down right away.Flag
