Name: Kevin Gibson on Jan 8, 2007Comments: The comments in the above Petition are my complaints. Sewage charge is something created for profit for the Town of Prescott Valley, and the Water Bill in my opinion should be charged the same for every resident regardless of the gallons used. The commodity (Water) should be the same for all that use it in cost. We should pay for what we use, but should not be abused or cheated because we use more.Flag

Name: Gloria Gentry on Jan 9, 2007Comments: I use very little water that goes into the sewer but I'm being charged as tho it does. I don't mind paying for the water I use for landscaping. I'm not sure the premise that the more that is charged for high usage will deter more usage. It may just be a gimick. But since that is the premise, I don't flush, shower, or wash dishes every day & wear my clothes several times just to save money so I can afford, hopefully, to pay my water bill. I am aware that AZ doesn't have much water & that water shouldn't be wasted. I'm one who doesn't run water while brushing my teeth & never have. Are we not to have landscaping with greenery & I don't mean grass The whole area would look pretty sad with no trees, shrubs, etc.Flag

Name: Don Coartney on Jan 11, 2007Comments: Kevin: The sewage charge is $3.59 per thousand gallons of water used, plus a base charge of $5.07. Once you hit 6000 gallons, you are paying more for sewage than for the water. In the summer, most water goes for landscape instead of down the sewer. DonFlag

Name: Donald Biddle on Jan 11, 2007Comments: I agree. I also have a nice 'green' lawn which I water regularly in the summer months. A different method should be used to determine sewage charges. Laundry and toilet usage in my household is about the same during both winter and summer seasons. It seems reasonable that the amount of water used in the winter could therefore be accurately linked to sewer charges.Flag

Name: Fletcher D. Jackson on Jan 20, 2007Comments: I certainly agree with Kevin. My irrigation to my trees & schrubs should not be used to calculate my sewer bill! That water is put directly into the ground, not into any of the town's sewer system!Flag
