Name: Anonymous on Dec 15, 2009Comments: Give teachers a chance to teach and not waste time filling in excessive beaurocratic forms. We live in a 'tick box' culture where everybody has to cover their backs against making mistakes and avoid being sued. This takes away all sense of creativity and freedom and enjoyment from jobs and makes work a chore.Flag

Constant change and the layering of increasing levels of beaurocracy are negating many improvements that have been made in education in the last 20 years.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 17, 2009Comments: I quite agree - we are definatley a tick box profession. It appears that it is more important to provide data and constantly assess. Teaching time seems to be less and less. What is most important - the needs of OFSTED and government or the needs of our children?Flag

Name: Kenneth John SHEPPARD on Dec 18, 2009Comments: A high-school head of science said to me: 'Teaching the class is distracting me from my real work which is filling in forms.' As a grandparent I am concerned at the amount of time teachers at all levels have to spend on frequently-changing government-inspired paper-work. As a retired high-scool head I can well sympathise with those who feel overwhelmed by bureaucracy.Flag
