| 252 | Anonymous | I am Australian & was fortunate enough to have been introduced to kava some 10 years ago by my fijian friends now living in Australia.
Having seen over many years the aggression which came from alcohol i find it unbelievable that the Australian government sees fit to ban this peaceful drink. Kava is a drink of friendship & i ask that the Government respect the cultural rights of our pacific neighbors living here. |

| 259 | Talei | Maybe ban the meth-clinics first before banning a HARMFUL substance such as kava! |

| 265 | Todd Boardman | An Australian with wonderful memories of the Pacific Islands, and their people, I cannot understand the harm the waqa could cause this great nation. Perhaps the Australian Government should start a a new sitting around the grog bowl, eh? |
| 266 | Anonymous | Please don't discriminate and wreck Islander's essential cultural traditions. Let common sense prevail. Allow traditional use of kava. |
| 267 | Damian Parish | What a ridiculous and stupid thing to restrict.
Stop penalising the general populace for the stupidity of some, revoke this decision. |

| 274 | arthur sawaki | alcohol and cigarettes have not been banned despite the astronmical sums of money the health authorities spend treating victims of alcohol and cigarette abuse, it seems since we are in the minority we have been made the scapegoat |
| 275 | James Bush | I believe the Pacific Island communities should have th right to this long standing and marvelous community tradition.
Are we going to stop home brewing of beer... i doubt it... so why the kava ban?
Thanks |

| 286 | Parvin Kumar | kava should not be banned for Fijians |
| 287 | Ben Singh | I request the Kava ban to be lifted as Kava is a herbal drink and widely drank by Fijians.Kava is a very relaxing drink unlike alcohol and there are less acts of violence or abuse by Kava drinkers. I have seen lots of alcohol violence but nil Kava related incidents.
Kava drinkings brings peace and harmony and is a very good medium to get old friends together.
I vote for the ban to be lifted immediately. |
| 288 | Anonymous | They banned Kava without any consultation with the broarder Australian community and without any evidence - yet they will not ban Alcohol or Ciggarettes throughout Australia - what a contradiction. Shame on the Government - revenue comes before facts. This is not fair on people living in Australia for who Kava is of significant cultural importance. |

| 290 | Deepak Kumar | Kava ban must be lifted as people from Fiji are suffering and some are resorting to alcohol. Kava has been proven to be good for health as well as not causing rowdiness and violence.
Because of the ban Kava prices - if available, have quadrupled.
The ban has to be lifted. |

| 298 | ROHIT NARAYAN | Give, me grog, give me kava give me the yaqona. If the same logic in banning kava is used for beer, then that should be banned too. Please release kava from this strangle. Free it. |
| 299 | Eddie Bonnici | As someone who enjoys the odd kava drink, i think this time-old tradition should not be banned but embraced as a cultural gift for all to share. |
