| 151 | Yalanieta Vakarewa | My dad is Fijian and mum is an aussie, that makes me half/cast I suppose, but I love to be identified as an Australian Fijian. Therefore kava is part of my identity. Dad is also suffering withdrawl symtopms from lack of Kava. |
| 152 | Belinda Vakarewa | Oilei!!! don't do this to my dad, he loves his kava and it's home away from home for him. We are full of culture and it begins with a bowl of kava |
| 153 | Savenaca Vakarewa | lift the kava ban now, my dad's mate do'nt like coffee and tea, and alcohol makes them agressive so bring back the kava |
| 154 | GREG CORK | Throwing the baby out with the bath water here, Ban the kava where it is being misused, not where there is no problem.
Greg |
| 155 | Tomasi Ramanumanu | The Australian governments decision to ban kava is a disgrace. How can Australia claim to be a multi-cultural society when it cintinually attemps to completely assimilate people from other cultures by banning traditions. |
| 156 | Anonymous | Come on bring back the Kava. We know the main reason for this ban Howard. You are hurting everyone except the one you want to punish.
Bring it back please. |

The kava ceremony has been ingrained in my culture, (Fijian) as well as all the other pacific island cultures.
My vote is to lift the ban nationally and restrict the flow to places in the country were it's usage is being abused.
Don't punish the us because of a small group of people who aren't even pacific islanders. |
| 159 | Anonymous | My friends and I live so far away from Fiji and each other here in Australia. It's our only recreational time to get together.
Where we do sit around listen to good old music and have a basin or three and catch up on family, Fiji and friends.
I especially have been brought up on this and am proud to make mention that I am a good law abiding citizen. |

| 163 | Anonymous | Why not ban alcohol and cigarettes at the same time, after all cigarette smoke and alcohol are more dangerous then Kava. |
| 164 | Alan ricketts | |
| 165 | Nathan Smith | Kava has helped me give up alcohol and is great for reducing my anxiety which I was previously treated for on an SSNRI (Effexor, Venalaflaxine). |
| 166 | Daniel Dai | let kava in! |

| 176 | Keith King | Thanks for the petition, i use kava for Anxiety & depression & it works wonders, I was recently forced to get a script for capsules of extract from my doctor because kava has recently been made a S4 & only extract capsules are approved by the unhelpful TGA but they just do'nt compare & help little. So I fear I might spiral back in to the depths of anxieties depression & despair (Thanks TGA). |

| 192 | Ashley Whitehead | Kava's not a harmfull substance! Why on earth bad it?? |
| 193 | Anonymous | Count me in. Im passionate abotu kava. |
| 194 | Anonymous | Everyone should be allowed to access the wonderful kava |
| 195 | Wade Sorensen | Kava is a herb like tea or coffee and certainly is much less detrimental to the mind and body than cigarettes and alchohol..
Tea and coffee is imported in huge amounts, as is tobacco and alchohol and why should something so natural, un-tainted and beautiful be restricted from inportation?? |
| 196 | Damian Ward | Considering the detremental effects of alcohol on many aspects of society, i find it hard to comprehend that a far, far less harmful, dare i say, harmless alternative been restricted in such a way.
Absolutely disgusting. |

| 198 | Anonymous | The import restriction is a pathetic mandate, delivered under false pretence. |
