I did foster care for three children, their names are David (11), Shanika (9), and Brianna (5). They also have a little brother who i already adopted, he's almost 2. The two little girls have autism and I had them going in the right direction. They lived here for three years, but when they came here all the girls were eating was oatmeal or soft foods. They weren't chewing any other kinds of foods and didn't even want to try anything new. David was peeing in the bed and when he would be having too much fun, he'd pee on himself. I got the girls eating new foods but it took a while and a bit of work. They were then eating burgers, nuggets, and a lot of different solid foods. I worked with David on wetting the bed, he then stopped, but every once in a while he would have an accident and I would talk to him about it. He finally just stopped all together. I even got Shanika out of pull-ups and into underwear. I loved those kids as if they were mine. Their father was supposed to get them back, but he kept messing up and then just gave all his rights up. So they got put up for adoption. I had to let them go because all my household members had to agree on keeping them here. I couldnt just make the decision on my own. We also had space problems because my daughter was having another baby, and there just wasnt enough room. Then the day before Thanksgiving, they left and went up north to live with this familly who wanted to adopt them. After them being gone for not even a month I started thinking of ways to rearrange my household to fit them in. I started asking my family about adopting them and what their opinion was. So we started discusing it, and after a while everybodys minds were made up. We wanted to adopt them. The adoption worker is saying that it might be too late. I really hope its not too late, cuz i really want them back. They fit in with this family perfectly.
