   Comments: A new off leash dog walking area is badly needed for Kanata residents. Kanata development has exploded in the past 10 years and available space for dog (and owner) exercise and training is disappearing. Bruce pit in Nepean is overused and is now avoided by many dog owners.

   Comments: There have been numerous comments about the over-use of the current off-leash dog parks in the NCC area. This is a fact. We definitely require more areas for our precious pets to get the exercise that they require. This is a must for responsible dog-ownership and the well-being of our treasured friends and companions. It is only natural. Also, it is a good way for our dogs to be socialized with their own kind. Please give this petition the serious consideration that it warrants.

   Comments: We firmly support the creation of a dog park in Kanata. Of the five off leash parks in Ottawa, only one is in the west end. This dog park, Bruce Pit, is becoming over crowded which poses a risk to dogs as well as to the people who enjoy it daily. A dog park in Kanata would be widely used and a great use of this space.

    Comments: Ottawa is lagging behind so many world and even provincial cities in this regard! Again! The one 'park' - open area -available (and HIGHLY) used in this area has been partially taken over by a Church. The one that my daughter suggested at a Goulbourn Town meeting years ago is either being built and razed or laying fallow. The reality IS that there is a growing number of people who want and need to walk their dogs and socialize at the same time. We NEED a park!

    Comments: Dogs must be on their leashes at all times with the exception of being in the house or in an enclosed backyard. Backyards aren't big enough these days and dogs need a place to run and play. Creating a Kanata Dog Park in the South March Highlands would definitely be appreciated by dogs and their owners.

    Comments: Kanata needs to wake up and smell the roses, this needs to be addressed. At the rate that Kanata is expanding somthing has to be done. Maybe there should be a dog gathering (100 +) at the centrum on a saturday morning to get some attention.

    Comments: There are not enough dog parks in Ottawa. I have recently spent time in Victoria, BC where they lead the country in the accessibility of responsible dog owners to dog parks.
