Name: Mary Clayson on May 3, 2007Comments: I am a Registered Veterinary Technician working at a vet clinic in Kanata. On a daily basis, I see dogs with health and behavioural concerns which are a direct result of not getting enough exercise, and/or not getting the chance to run and play and interact with other dogs off leash in a safe and secure environment. There are far too few areas within the City of Ottawa where this is a possibility. I urge you to devote as much land as possible to the creation of more off leash parks.Flag

Name: Carol Marsh on May 4, 2007Comments: It's more than time for an off-leash dog park in the Kanata area. Parks like these benefit the dogs, dog owners and the public at large. There are many many facilities for children in Kanata; make some space for our pets too.Flag

Name: Anonymous on May 7, 2007Comments: I fully support a leash-free dog park for Kanata. I currently walk my dog on the many trails in the South March Highlands, and the development, deer and people related activities are increasing. A dedicated dog park would ensure that all residents needs would be met. .Flag

Name: George Butlers M.D. on May 7, 2007Comments: Considering the growing number of dog owners in the greater Ottawa area another dog park would be of great benefit. The more dogs "socialize" the better they interact with humans and other dogs. The more space there is for the owners to walk or run freely with their dogs the better the general health of both.Flag

Name: Mary Maclean on May 17, 2007Comments: Off leash parks lead to a healthier society all round. Dogs are much happier with an off-lead run each day to burn energy and socialize, therefore they are better around children, and adults of different shapes and sizes whom they meet at the park. Walking is the best way to keep people healthy - we need more parks!Flag
