Name: Michael Broady Jr. on Jan 15, 2013Comments: If we take into account environmental and human health impacts, industrial agriculture causes more harm than it creates profit for the multinational corporations who are given privilege to the land. This is not just about one company, Monsanto, but much deeper - the issue here is a mindset that insists on growing food with poison and machines, rather than with understanding of nature. Kamehameha schools should be an example of Mālama ʻĀina, perpetuating one of the most sustainable systems of land stewardship ever developed on the planet, the ahupua'a. Instead, industrial monocultures are allowed to relentlessly assault the land with toxic chemicals, arguably the most destructive system of land degradation on the planet, and then go a step futher with multinational biotechnology seed companies committing this ecological genocide for the sake of economic exploitation which has led to the suicide of over 300,000 farmers in the case of India. Stop this hewa. Evict Kamehameha Schools. We will not shut up until you do. Malama pono.Flag
