Name: Darlene Morris on Apr 15, 2008Comments: The solution is viable if Pima can support 6-8 more classrooms. If not, puts holes in Dr. Baracy's proposition- if the end result is "overcrowding" I think we should have some alternative solutions or propositons to address the issue of enrollment, and the marketing strategies of SUSD- that is what needs to be fixed. As far as energy - what about the efficiency of the transportation system- if enrollment is down, then are the buses empty Could we propose to utilize or combine bus routes to serve more than one school, so buses are used at capacity. The school board should look at it.Flag

Name: Judith E Lee on Apr 15, 2008Comments: Closing neighbor schools is the wrong thing to do. Changing them to K-8 is the best answer. I'm a Grandmother and I think to cut back on any educational programs this includes our fine arts courses would be a diaster. These children are the ones who will be running our country in the future.Flag

Name: Don Harrison on Apr 16, 2008Comments: All excelling schools such as Pima consist of a four part team, Supervision, Teachers/staff, Students and a very supportive parent base. Removing or lacking anyone of these elements will disolve or dilute the excellence of that school. SUSD should look at the non-performers and address the problem elements at those schools. Leave Pima as the model and goal for all SUSD schools.Flag

Name: Tricia Halbe-Sauer on Apr 17, 2008Comments: Return Pima to K-8. This plan not only retains an excelling school in South Scottsdale, but enrollment numbers will increase in all the South Scottsdale elementary schools which eventually increases Coronado High Schools enrollment numbers. A simple long term plan for ALL students in South Scottsdale.Flag

Name: Max Davis on Apr 17, 2008Comments: I am an out of district parent and I love the idea of k-8. My kids are currently in 2nd and 3rd grade and it makes my decision much easier for the following years. I think PIMA has the perfect mix of teachers and I have been struggling on where to send my kids next. This is an awesome option that was presented at the last meeting and I look forward to assisting in the meetings to come. Thank you for listening, MaxFlag
