This petiton is to gain support for a Kankakee area BMX track for our youth. I’m asking for your much needed support in getting approvals for an ABA sanctioned, non-profit track to be built in or around the Kankakee area.

In conjunction with local bike shop Ride Outfitters, we are old school “back in the day” BMX racers who are trying to revitalize BMX racing to an area that had three tracksback in the late 80’s. They have been long gone since then. The Kankakee areaas well as thesurrounding areas are located in a “dead zone” as far traveling to tracks. The closest tracks are and hour and a half away.

BMX has grown nationally and worldwide.A few weeks ago on Channel 5, they televised from London the BMX Olympic qualifier for 2012. So BMX is gaining enough popularity to get some very good exposure on TV.

We want toget the youth involved in BMX racing.Wewant tohelp get our kids to get out of the house and to be active. In our society we have entirely too many inactive young people. Not to metion there are kids that just aren’t cut out for organized sports.We want to give those kids that opportunity to compete, succeed and even fail while having fun and to never sit the bench again!

BMX also promotes a great family sport for all. Dad and the kids can both be involved AND race!
