Comments: As a John Wanless Public School parent, I think that Trustee Howard Goodman, Principal Michelle Dawson; the School Council; the Council's Committee reviewing space requirements to accommodate FDK; and other interested school parents - have all very effectively and collaboratively proven that JWPS can accommodate FDK and the future growth of the student population. As a result, I fully support this petition, and ask that Howard Goodman, the team at the TDSB, Councillor Stintz, and school Principal Dawson - remove JWPS from the Formal Consultation process that Howard Goodman says JWPS will be subject to starting in January 2013. I further support this petition and ask specifically that JWPS not be subject to any of the "open suggestions or consequences" including: boundary revisions; bussing; portables; or changing school paths (e.g. no longer being eligible to go to Glenview and Lawrence Park – and instead being sent to other grade 7-8 or grade 9-12 schools). All of the JWPS constituents (including current student parents and JW Child Care) have indicated at past School Council meetings (that given that we now know we have the existing space) that they will cooperate and share space, or move into newly designated space - and that the 5 new classrooms that the Committee found to accommodate FDK and future student growth – are perfectly adequate for the survival of JWPS as it stands now.

Comments: We've already found a solution. Boundary changes are not an option to this neighbourhood. Period.

Comments: Given the recent events at Sandy Hook Elementary School, I am even more emphatic about the need to keep our close knit community intact. We look out for each other's children and our children love this school - as is.

Comments: I do find the process frustrating and less than transparent, and I'm glad to see so many parents want to have their voices heard
