Comments: Insisting on poll high, in front of the vertical face, the whole issue of LDR would become irrelevant. If judges follow the rules in scoring, then horses will be more properly trained. If judges reward correct movement and not the style du jour, there will be no place for LDR or aggressive riding, and they will be passing on to future generations the spirit of dressage as well as the principles.

Comments: Dressage Trainer and author of Riding by Torchlight Column for Horses For Life. Just Say Yes to horsemanship for the love of the horse, to dressage for the sake of the horse, not ribbons. FEI, it's time to step up and follow your own rules.

Comments: The only ones that can really uphold this rule is the judges. And they will have to throw out competitors that break the rule to leave a strong message that it will not be tolerated. That is the only way to change the way trainers train for this event.

Comments: the principles and basics of dressage should NOT be compromised just so an illete few can benefit....but it is only the humans that are benefitting....lets think of the horse. dressage is a partnership.....a team sport.....it belongs to two players not one!!! why does the whole idea of something good have to be spoiled for the sake of a few? Its about the horses that we love and care for every day and about a sport that has survived centuries and should remain pure.

Comments: Thank goodness for the positive aspect to this rollkur/hyperflexion/LDR campaign! May ALL riders take this to heart and showcase their horses in the way the FEI originally intended, whether training at home, on the trails or at competitions.

Comments: I applaud the aims of this petition at the same time that I hold out little hope that the FEI will listen this time while they have been deaf to the same concerns in the past. For my money, the FEI judges who have allowed Dressage to devolve to its current competitive state should all be taken out and shot. They are no better than traitors.

Comments: I understand that the goal of Dressage is to restore the horse to balanced freedom of movement while ridden. How LDR, which deprives the horse of his forward vision, occludes his airway and prevents natural salivary function swallowing, and breathing, and overstretches the very mechanism by which he helps himself balance, his neck, can POSSIBLY be considered part of Dressage is absolutely beyond me. Anyone can see LDR is an abusive, over -disciplining positioning designed to break the horse both physically and psychologically. Dressage will be an evil word in the horse world if this practice is sanctioned. DON'T DO IT!
