Comments: I am a lifelong Republican. We Republicans talk about the attacks of 9/11 as just cause for us being in Iraq, etc. Yet, one of our very own, yet again, one of our servicemen gets treated in this manner on our very streets by our very own people, yet more, by our very own law enforcement! We DO NOT need to be having our soldiers blood spilt on our US sidewalks by our own law enforcement! This is an outrage!

Comments: The Nassau County Executive, the District Attorney and the Chief of Police must not only investigate but also report to the citizens and constituents of Nassau County on the actions that have been taken to bring the policemen who not only injured an Iragi Vet, left him injured an unconsciounably long time and had the termerity to cuff him. Misguided police brutality should never be tolerated. Also for review should be the actions of the Police assigned to the Bellmore fair as well as the organizers. AND, NEWSDAY MUST BE INFORMED AND THEY MUST REPORT! JPizer

Comments: We, the undersigned, denounce and condemn the violent actions and gross misconduct of the Nassau County Police Department in Hempstead, Long Island. Specifically, we are citing the unprovoked attack unleashed upon a member of "Iraq Veterans Against the War," who was acting within the first amendment right to "peacefully assemble" on the evening of October 15, 2008 at Hofstra University, the site of the last presidential debate. Iraq War Veteran Nick Morgan was peaceably standing on the sidewalk when he was unmercifully and unlawfully trampled by a Nassau County Police Department horse mounted by a Police Officer who provoked the horse to spin against the crowd on the sidewalk, thereby knocking down and stepping on the Iraq Veteran which action nearly killed him. He sustained a crushing blow to his head when the horse trampled his face, breaking his cheek bone in three places, his "orbital" (eye socket) was shattered, thus leaving his eye dangerously close to sinking into his sinus cavity over time without proper surgery. People of conscience cannot and will not sit by and allow members of any police force who are here to protect and serve behave like criminals themselves. Therefore, we demand justice for Nick Morgan. All charges against him must be dropped immediately, and a public apology be given by not only the Nassau County Police Department but the Mayor of Hempstead. We will not tolerate these violent actions being inflicted upon anyone, especially a veteran who honorably served his Country.

Comments: What happened to Nick Morgan was absolutely horrible. It was also disturbing to read about how dirsrespectful the police officiers were to those that were wrongfully arrested. It pisses me off even more to think that this is the kind of news that should be reported, but unfornately the media is now just used as a tool for propaganda.

Comments: I am sick, and tired to my very soul of the way this country is urning towards fascism. The Nassau police behaved like they were storm troopers. Not only should all charges against Nick be dropped but Nassau county should pay him reparations for his injuries and subsequent abysmal treatment by the Nassau police. An official apology is also in order.
